Philadelphia VA staff earn public service awards

A diverse group of staff members at the Philadelphia Veterans Affairs Medical Center has been recognized for superior public service in America’s fifth-largest metropolitan area, capturing 11 medals in the 2010 Philadelphia Federal Executive Board Excellence in Government Awards program. Philadelphia VAMC staff earned three gold medals, one silver medal and seven bronze medals.
At the awards ceremony May 6 in suburban Philadelphia, a proud VA contingent picked up the awards in front of 1,000-plus other federal employees. The FEB awards are the highlight event for recognizing outstanding public service in the Delaware Valley.
Philadelphia VAMC’s 2010 award recipients are:

Outstanding Professional Performer: George W. Stilwell, Vision-Impaired Veterans Program Coordinator
Improved Federal Image (Group): Employee Ambassador Program
Community Service (Group): 2009 Stand Down for Homeless Veterans
Silver Medalist
Technical Accomplishment (Group): Cultural Transformation Committee, Philadelphia Veterans Community Living Center
Bronze Medalists
Supervisory Rookie of the Year: Tanya Earle, Health Administration Service
Technical Accomplishment (Group): National Parkinson’s Disease Consortium

Outstanding Professional Performer: John E. Duda, MD, PADRECC
