It’s HERE!! A new daytime nurse triage service to improve timely, same-day access to the over 300,000 Veterans throughout VA Healthcare VISN 4.

    • The Centralized RN Triage Call Center provides Veterans with medical advice by telephone from a Registered Nurse (RN), and a way to resolve primary, specialty, and mental health care needs when unable to present to their primary VA facility.
  • Patients can access the RN Triage Call Center by calling the main line at 215-823-5800, then pressing 3 on the main menu.
  • Veterans may call the Centralized RN Triage Call Center to:
  1. Ask a medical or mental health question
  2. Report any symptoms they may be experiencing
  3. Seek medical advice about a medical or mental health condition
  • The Call Center will physically operate at VA Butler Healthcare in Butler, PA, but will provide service to the over 300,000 Veterans throughout VA Healthcare VISN 4 Medical Centers in Altoona, Coatesville, Erie, Lebanon, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and Wilkes-Barre, PA, Wilmington, DE and each facility’s Community-Based Outpatient Clinics.
  • The Centralized RN Triage Call Center will operate Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., and be staffed by Registered Nurses.
  • After normal business hours Monday-Friday, weekends, and holidays, if a Veteran needs to speak with a VA nurse, they should call the After Hours Bronx Line at 888-558-3812.
  • The Veterans Crisis Line is available to Veterans, or a Veteran’s spouse, child, parent, sibling, grandparent, friend, or caregiver. Call toll-free 1-800-273-8255 and Press 1, chat online, or send a text message to 838255 to receive free, confidential support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
  • VA continues to strive for all Veterans to have safe, high-quality, personalized, and timely care. The Call Center will ensure Veterans and their family members calling on behalf of a Veteran have direct access to a nurse and same-day access services.
